She Paints Her Nightstands Silver – But It’s The Next Step That Makes Them Fabulous
I needed some cheap home ideas for a couple of small dressers that I was able to buy at More
a discount home decor store. There wasn’t really an avenue for me to consult with a home design helper because well they are expensive! This project I had to do it myself and find some home decor hacks that I can reasonably do without overextending myself or my means. So your girl visited some Tumblr home decor sites and I found a couple of casual traditional home decor options that were plausible, eventually, I settled on the mirror options. With my two small dressers on hand, I took them outside and began the demolition (Pinterest home decor DIY). First thing I did was remove all the hardware from the chests and pulled the drawers out of the frame (new trends in home design). After I gutted the furniture (reclaimed home decor), I quickly sanded the drawers and the frame because I wanted to spray paint the entire body and drawers (cool home designs). I used a Rust-Oleum paint and gave the dressers two coats of paint. I didn’t have to spray everywhere, just the parts that I know would be visible, like the outside frame, the corners, the face and sides of the drawers (awesome home ideas). Then I placed them outside to dry for about twenty-four hours (creative home ideas).
While that was drying I measured the faces of the drawers, the sides and top of the dressers, then I went to home depot and had them cut some mirrors up for me (best home decor deals), and I paid roughly fifteen dollars for twelve pieces of mirror. Then I went back to my favorite hardware store and bought twelve jewel-like drawer handles and E6000 glue, 530 glue, and some clamps. Now it was time to head back home and finish up the repurposed home decor project. I unwrapped the mirrors and one by one I applied the 530 glue to the back and gently lined up the mirror to the respective surfaces, applied pressure and I repeated this process until all of the surfaces were covered. Next, I measured the area and distance of where the drawer handles would be placed and used the E6000 on the mirror and set the handles on top of it with some pressure. After I completed that, I brought out my clamps and clamped all surfaces with mirrors and left it alone for forty-eight hours. Finally, I was able to apply some glass cleaner and move my gorgeous home decor creation into my bedroom!
